Note:  This is a series of journal entries from my two years living in Himeji, Japan (1988-1990).  I'm archiving them electronically through my blog.  Last names have been deleted and replaced with first initial only.  For details on this series of blog entries, see this post.

Today I went with caravan to Osaka.  Jenny U. went too.  It was a great day!  We left Himeji at 9:00 A.M., and returned around 8:40 P.M.

We took Kay to her office in Osaka at OCT & exchanged caravan greenbacks.  Then we all went to Chiko's & Charlie's, a Mexican restaurant.  There was a gaijin waitress & we were really excited until she came to our table & we found that she only spoke Japanese and Spanish!

We went shopping.  Most of us bought dolls on sale. (It was quite a gaijin shopping frenzy in the doll dept.!).  We then went to Osaka Castle, then to Victoria Station for dinner...yum!

Denise burst into tears at the dept. store after buying the doll.  She said she was in shock.  She doesn't do irrational things & was worried about how she'd get it home.  Sam & I bought the same winter coat...his black, mine white.  I also bought a suit jacket for 2,000 yen.
