I'm Having WAAAAAAYYYYYY...

...too much fun with Photoshop!  Okay...I have to admit that the first couple of weeks with it were WRETCHED...it's SOOOOOO not "user friendly", and I've watched WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY more YouTube videos on how to use it than I can STAND, but, now that I know a LITTLE bit about how it works, I'm a little obsessed...

It started with the READ poster software that I bought for the media center at school.  I've wanted, FOR YEARS, to get the software to create my own READ posters at school (the "standard" are the posters with celebrities holding their favorite books, on a cool background, with their favorite book in hand).  I FINALLY decided to buy it (it was on sale, after all), and am having a GREAT time making posters for staff at school.

Here's MY first attempt at a poster (yes, I'm a little blurry, but you get the idea...):

After creating my poster, and saving my "cutout", I decided it COULD be fun to insert my picture into other settings, so, I decided it would be fun to visit other places...

THEN...I decided it would be really fun to take "Green Eggs and Ham", and experiment with that (what can I say..that's JUST how I roll...)...

I can read it on a boat...

I can read it with a goat...

I can read it in a box...

I can read it with a fox...

I can read it in a house...

I can read it with a mouse...

I can read it near...

or far...

...and that's as far as I've gone with it.  I DID have the BRILLIANT idea today to Photoshop "I can read it on an island...I can read it with Rose Nylund...", but haven't had a chance to put it together yet...

Stay tuned, I guess.  If you need me, I'll be at my computer...thinking up other FUN, FUN, FUN things to do with my new "toy"!!!

Here's hoping YOU found a creative outlet recently too!!!!

SNOW DAY!!!

If you want school snow days as a "perk" of your job, Minnesota is NOT the place to work.  Today, however, is a MIRACLE!!!!  We actually have one!  This is my FIFTH snow day in FOURTEEN years of teaching in the twin cities.

NOT our actual snowfall...

A miracle indeed...!!

Here's hoping YOU enjoyed a pleasant surprise recently too!!!
