It's a "double decker", extra WIDE, and mom and dad bought it at an auction from a great aunt, or a fourth cousin, twice removed, so I was hoping for lots of "family recipes", and Iowa standards, but, unfortunately, 93% of the recipe cards are cut from magazines and newspapers, and are then glued on recipe cards.
I DID find a fun recipe for Beefy Hash Brown Casserole:
Here's the recipe:
Beefy Hash Brown Casserole
1 pkg. hash browns
4 T. oil
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 pkg. brown gravy mix
1 c. water
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 tsp. garlic powder or salt
1/2 c. grated cheese
f.f. (french fried?) onions (opt.)
Mix hash browns & oil. Press to line baking pan. Bake 15 min. (350 degrees?).
Brown ground beef, add the gravy mix, water, veggies, & seasoning, and cook for a few minutes. Put into baked tater shell, and top with cheese & onions.
I'm ASSUMING you then put it back into the oven until the cheese melts, and starts to brown, but the recipe ends with the directions above...
Enjoy!!
